Business Development Manager – Fire & Gas / Industrial Safety Systems
Location: Italy – Field-Based
Travel: Approximately 50% domestic, with some international travel
Are you an experienced Business Development Manager with a background in industrial automation, Fire & Gas systems or engineered safety solutions?
We're recruiting on behalf of an established specialist in industrial safety and automation solutions, looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth across the Oil & Gas, Power Generation and wider industrial sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional who enjoys developing new business, building long-term customer relationships and managing complex, technically focused sales opportunities.
The Role:
You'll be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities whilst developing existing key accounts across Italy and selected international markets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities across Oil & Gas, Power Generation and industrial markets.
- Building strong relationships with EPC contractors, end users and key decision-makers.
- Promoting engineered safety solutions, including Fire & Gas Detection and Burner Management Systems.
- Managing complex tender processes, technical proposals and commercial negotiations through to contract award.
- Developing existing accounts through upgrades, system modernization, maintenance contracts and additional services.
- Working closely with technical, project management and service teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Representing the business at industry exhibitions, conferences and customer meetings.
What We're Looking For:
- 7+ years' experience in technical B2B sales or business development, ideally within industrial automation, safety systems, instrumentation or process equipment.
- Proven success managing complex sales cycles involving EPC contractors and industrial end users.
- Strong commercial awareness, negotiation skills and a track record of winning new business.
- An established network within the Oil & Gas, Power or wider industrial sectors would be highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of Fire & Gas systems, Burner Management Systems or relevant safety standards (SIL, ATEX, EN 54) would be beneficial.
- Fluent Italian and English communication skills.
- Willingness to travel regularly across Italy, with occasional international travel.
- An Engineering or Business qualification, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
