Senior Technical Manager – Engineering & Project Delivery
At Sosteneo, we invest in the infrastructure accelerating the energy transition. We are looking for a Senior Technical Manager – Engineering & Project Delivery to bring hands‑on technical and commercial expertise across investment assessment, project delivery and asset operations.
Working in a lean, fast-moving international team, you will take ownership of technical workstreams across the full project lifecycle — from due diligence and procurement to construction, commissioning and operational performance. You will work closely with our Investment, Asset Management, Construction, Legal, Commercial and Finance teams, while managing and challenging external advisers, contractors and technology providers.
What you’ll do
- Lead hands‑on technical due diligence for renewable energy investment opportunities.
- Review and challenge project design, constructability, performance assumptions, technical risks and delivery strategies.
- Support procurement and the negotiation of EPC, LTSA, O&M;, equipment supply and consultancy agreements.
- Act as the owner's technical representative through design, construction, testing, commissioning and handover.
- Provide technical support to operating assets and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Develop practical technical standards, processes and governance for a growing investment platform.
What we’re looking for
- An engineering degree or related technical qualification.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in renewable energy development, engineering, construction, technical due diligence, investment support or asset delivery.
- Strong hands‑on knowledge of utility‑scale solar PV and working knowledge of BESS technologies.
- Experience across multiple stages of the project lifecycle and confidence managing contractors, OEMs and specialist advisers.
- Strong commercial judgement, clear communication skills and fluent professional English.
Experience with BESS projects, technical contract negotiation, financial close, construction and commissioning, or tools such as PVsyst, PVCase, AutoCAD and GIS platforms would be an advantage.
The role is offered within Impiegati area, under the National Collective Labour Agreement for the Banking Sector (CCNL Credito). The starting gross annual salary is € 70.000. The final offer will be aligned with the candidate's professional experience, technical and soft skills relevant to the role and may include an individual variable compensation component.
