Job Description
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Senior Application Engineering for Abrasive Systems Division at 3M Italy, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
- Leads efforts to drive growth through customer collaboration, new application development, and new product commercialization.
- Leverages 3M to drive higher impact Customer Inspired Innovation programs through increased market specialization that complement product expertise.
- Builds compelling value propositions for effective commercialization.
- Provides increased coordination of field trials with lead customers or evaluating local competition and marketing practices.
- Replicates and develops high impact product/market applications with a focus on new application development and efficient replication leveraging e-tools.
- Uses expertise and credibility to shape industry standards, practices, and regulations; harnesses insights from market and customer process expertise.
- Delivers customer and market focused training.
- Leads programs of major importance to organization’s interests leading to and/or supporting innovative applications and extensions of new and existing technologies, products and/or businesses.
Skills and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
from an accredited institution
- Ability and willingness to effectively document technical work and present results
- Hands‑on construction and fabrication experience, particularly utilizing industrial abrasives
- Proven capability and experience in leading strategic programs, including serving as AE Lead for high‑impact NPI initiatives, supporting innovation and the expansion of new and existing technologies, products, and businesses.
- Advanced Skills in relevant market, former positions e. g. Application Engineer/Technical Service/R&D;
- Language knowledge: native Italian speaker, advanced in English
- Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include Educational background in Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or Material Science
- Excellent Prioritization Communication Skills Spanish desirable
Location and Travel
Location: 3M Italy, Pioltello
Frequently requested to be present at the CTC (Customer Technical Centre at 3M Carpiano)
Travel: may include up to 50% (mainly domestic, occasionally international)
Working pattern: tempo pieno
Contract and Compensation
The position is classified at level Impiegato B2 under the National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL)
for the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry (Industria), CNEL code B011.
The gross annual remuneration envisaged for the role ranges between € 50.000 and € 55.000. The determination of the final starting remuneration within this range will be agreed taking into account the Company's organizational context, the provisions of the applicable CCNL, and objective and gender‑neutral criteria, including professional qualifications, relevant work experience, skills and competencies possessed, and the level of responsibility associated with the position.
The position may also provide access to a variable remuneration component of up to 5,67% of the gross annual remuneration, subject to the Company results.
Additional benefits and allowances may be granted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, the relevant CCNL, and the Company policies and programmes in force at the commencement of employment.
