Overview
As Manager Subcontracts, you lead subcontract concepts and governance to improve project effectiveness and meet quality and timeliness goals. You will guide processes and policy, resolve technical and operational issues, and influence the subcontract discipline across projects. You’ll partner with Engineering, Construction, and Project Management to plan sourcing, negotiate terms, and drive risk management. This role offers impact through shaping procurement practices for major energy infrastructure and safe delivery.
Responsabilità
- Support project staffing and resource planning
- Develop and maintain the Project Subcontract Execution Plan
- Prepare subcontract sourcing documentation with Engineering and Project Management
- Review and recommend tender awards; negotiate commercial terms
- Issue subcontract awards and manage administration
- Lead pre-award clarifications, kick-offs, and post-award meetings with minutes
- Establish post-award subcontract administration procedures
- Interface with subcontract coordinators on progress
- Manage subcontract documents using EDMS
- Conduct gap analysis of subcontract risks and participate in change/risk management
- Reconcile subcontract invoices and handle queries
- Contribute to project weekly/monthly reporting
- Ensure audit trail and compliance with procedures
- Support performance reviews for subcontract resources
- Oversee commercial closeout of Subcontract Agreements
- Record subcontract commitments, documentation, and payments in systems
- Lead implementation and enforcement of McDermott policies and training compliance
Requisiti fondamentali
- 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in construction or the oil and gas industry
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in procurement/material management including subcontracts administration
- Bachelor’s degree in construction, Engineering, or Business
