MEPF Construction Manager

JMG Solutions is seeking an experienced MEPF Construction Manager to support a major data centre construction project in Milan, Italy.

The successful candidate will provide technical and construction support to the construction management team, general contractor and MEPF subcontractors, ensuring mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection works are coordinated, delivered to the required standards and aligned with project schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

- Act as the primary point of contact for MEPF matters within the construction management team.
- Review issued-for-construction (IFC) designs, identify design issues and recommend practical improvements.
- Coordinate MEPF contractors, the general contractor, design teams and commissioning teams.
- Review and track shop drawings, technical submittals and design changes.
- Monitor procurement activities and long-lead equipment to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate the sequencing of MEPF works with civil, structural and architectural activities.
- Monitor daily progress, manpower, equipment and programme performance.
- Identify schedule risks and support recovery plans where required.
- Oversee installation quality, inspections and non-conformance closeout.
- Support the development of inspection and test plans (ITPs),



pre-commissioning procedures and commissioning plans.
- Coordinate equipment vendors, deliveries, installation, testing and commissioning activities.
- Oversee MEPF commissioning stages L1–L3 and liaise with the commissioning team on L4–L5.
- Support the general contractor and MEPF subcontractors through to project handover.

Requirements:

- Proven experience as an MEPF Construction Manager or in a similar role on large-scale construction projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Previous experience working on data centre or other mission-critical construction projects is highly desirable.
- Experience coordinating general contractors, specialist subcontractors and design teams.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, technical submittals, procurement and programme management.
- Knowledge of MEPF installation, quality control and commissioning processes.
- Excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Availability to work on-site in Milan, Italy.
