Our science is your advantage. /p pReporting to the Engineering Manager and under general supervision, as our Project Engineer you will work in an international team and you will autonomously manage the execution of projects within the Industrial Electronic Control segment to ensure that the certification projects are delivered on time and with the best quality and experience for our clients. /p ul lipIndependently determines project scope, develops a preliminary plan of investigation, and determines project specifications such as cost, time, and sample requirements by analyzing client input, available supplemental data, and product construction. /p /li lipProjects may include frequent travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites. /p /li lipInitiates communication with clients to promote and explain the benefits of new and existing services. /p /li lipFollows up on contacts from clients. /p /li lipCommunicates with clients to discuss technical issues, explain UL procedures and requirements, convey project cost, and negotiate completion date and sample requirements. /p /li lipActs to address client concerns and to resolve client issues. /p /li lipProvides technical assistance to clients in reference to product inspection and follow-up services. /p /li lipEstablishes appropriate test programs by reviewing files and manufacturer's information, examining samples, and applying UL requirements. /p /li lipNotifies client of any areas in which the product is not in compliance with UL requirements or of any changes in project scope or specifications. /p /li lipCoordinates laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and instructions to technicians,
scheduling and reviewing work of Laboratory Technicians and support staff and establishing completion dates. /p /li lipCoordinates administrative aspects of project management. /p /li lipServes as Project Handler of record and may sign as Reviewer of record as assigned. /p /li lipCommunicates project status and results to clients through frequent contact and by preparing reports. /p /li lipPrepares Follow-Up Service Procedures and information pages. /p /li lipIntegrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job. /p /li lipResolves engineering issues associated with Variation Notices by analyzing and reporting on the acceptability of the variations. /p /li lipProposes development of new and/or revised UL requirements. /p /li lipDevelops special test methods and test equipment. /p /li lipCoordinates and/or performs File Reviews. /p /li lipMay represent UL at industry related functions such as seminars and trade shows. /p /li lipMay provide direction as a Primary Designated Engineer or Designated Engineer for specific product categories. /p /li lipMay directs and review work of assigned staff. /p /li lipMay train office, field, and/or laboratory staff and entry-level engineers. /p /li lipProvides technical assistance to laboratory and/or field staff. /p /li lipRead and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices. /p /li lipPerforms other duties as directed. /p /li lipUniversity Degree in Electronic Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Physics from an accredited program plus four years directly related work experience. /p /li lipDetailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the appropriate discipline. /p /li lipWorking knowledge of conformity standards in use in area of expertise. /p /li lipDemonstrated ability to apply project-handling concepts in use in area of expertise. /p /li lipKnowledge of UL 61800-5-1, UL 61010-1, UL 61010-2-201 and UL 61010-2-030 standards is preferred.
Experience with the CB Scheme and a solid understanding of international product certification requirements will be considered a strong advantage. /ppWhat we offer: /p pWe understand that remuneration and benefits are important when deciding on your next career move. The annual salary range for this position is EUR 38.100 - 50.800 gross, determined by numerous factors, including knowledge, skills, and experience (Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA): Commerce Sector - Job Classification Level: Level 2-1). This position also offers an annual premio of up to 10% of annual salary.
