For an international luxury goods business with Italian operations based in Florence, combining distinctive product design, traditional craftsmanship and in-house manufacturing capabilities, we are looking for a Finance Manager Position The successful candidate will take ownership of the finance function for the Italian operations, overseeing financial reporting, accounting, compliance and retail performance analysis. Working closely with the UK finance team and local stakeholders, particularly in Production and Merchandising, the role will contribute to improving financial controls, strengthening management information and supporting business decisions through accurate, forward-looking financial analysis. Specifically, the candidate will be responsible for: Managing monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts and variance analysis, with a focus on profitability, margins, cash flow and working capital; Monitoring production costs, raw materials and stock valuation, supporting production planning and assessing investment opportunities; Overseeing accounting activities, including sales and purchases, accounts payable and receivable, banking, intercompany transactions, payroll-related administration and stock accounting; Improving financial processes, systems and internal controls,
ensuring accurate reconciliations and reliable reporting across the Italian operations; Ensuring compliance with Italian tax and regulatory requirements and coordinating external audits; Supporting the development of the local finance function, including the management of a junior team member, while maintaining a hands-on approach when required. Requirements The ideal candidate has approximately 10 years of experience in finance and accounting, with solid expertise in management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis. Experience in manufacturing, luxury goods or retail environments is preferred, particularly in contexts involving production costs, stock management and product margins. The role requires strong analytical skills, commercial awareness and attention to detail, together with the ability to improve financial processes and controls. The candidate should be comfortable working autonomously, collaborating with senior management and operational stakeholders, and balancing financial planning with day-to-day accounting responsibilities. Strong English-language skills and a practical, hands-on approach complete the profile.
