As a Metal Process Engineer in STMicroelectronics' Power Front-End Technology R&D, you will help shape next-generation metal processing and materials solutions. You will work with senior researchers and cross-functional teams to develop, optimize, and transfer processes, driving innovation in advanced manufacturing. You’ll investigate processing–microstructure relationships and contribute to R&D projects focused on new materials. This role offers hands-on experimentation, analysis, and technical communication in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.Support development and optimization of metal processing technologiesDesign and execute experiments, including DOECollect, analyze and interpret experimental dataPerform materials characterization and relate processing to microstructure & propertiesAssist root cause analysis of material/process issuesParticipate in R&D projects on new materials and manufacturing processesReview literature and contribute to technical reports and project reviewsCollaborate with process engineers, product developers,



manufacturing and quality teamsSupport prototype builds and technology demonstrationsParticipate in knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiativesMaster's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics or related disciplinesKnowledge of physical metallurgy and materials science fundamentalsFamiliarity with metal processing technologies and manufacturing principlesExperience with materials characterization techniquesStatistical data analysis xysqume and experimental methodologyThermodynamics, kinetics and phase transformationsMechanical properties and microstructure characterizationBasic data analysis tools (Excel, MATLAB, JMP, Python, or equivalent)Hands-on research or lab experienceKnowledge of Metallography, SEM/EDS, XRD, mechanical testing, surface characterizationExperience with DOE and scientific writing/presentationsBasic understanding of semiconductor, electronics, automotive, aerospace or advanced manufacturing applications#J-18808-Ljbffr
