Who We AreWe are looking for an experienced Senior Java & Kafka Engineer to join a team building modern, cloud-based, data-driven applications and real-time streaming solutions. The position involves hands-on software engineering and the development of business logic using Java, rather than focusing primarily on infrastructure management, CI/CD pipelines, or platform operations.At the same time, this is more than a traditional Backend Java role. The focus goes beyond standard REST/CRUD applications, with a strong emphasis on event-driven architectures, real-time data processing, Kafka-based integrations, and cloud-native solutions running on AWS.The ideal candidate has a strong Java engineering background combined with practical experience designing and implementing solutions using Apache Kafka. Experience with Confluent Kafka / Confluent Platform is highly desirable but not mandatory.What You'll Be DoingDesign, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services supporting data-driven business processesBuild and evolve event-driven and real-time data streaming architectures using Apache KafkaDevelop Kafka producers, consumers, event-processing components,



and integration servicesDesign reliable and scalable communication patterns between distributed systemsBuild cloud-native solutions and deploy/integrate applications within AWS environmentsImplement business logic around asynchronous events and streaming dataEnsure solutions are scalable, resilient, maintainable, and production-readyTroubleshoot application, integration, and data-streaming issues across distributed environmentsContribute to technical design and architectural discussions around Java, Kafka, AWS, and event-driven systemsCollaborate with software engineers, architects, DevOps/cloud engineers, and other technical stakeholdersApply software engineering best practices, including automated testing, code reviews, observability, and CI/CDWhat you'll bring alongBSc/MSc in Computer Science or related fieldMinimum 6-8+ years of experienceStrong hands-on experience with Java and modern Java developmentSolid experience with Apache Kafka in production environmentsGood understanding of: Kafka producers and consumers; topics and partitions; consumer groups and offsets; event-driven architecture; asynchronous processing; failure handling and resiliencyExperience designing xysqume or developing distributed, event-driven systemsPractical experience with AWS and cloud-based application environmentsExperience developing APIs and integration servicesGood understanding of microservices and distributed application architecturesExperience with automated testing, Git, CI/CD, and modern software engineering practicesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsNice to Have:Experience with Confluent Kafka / Confluent PlatformExperience with Kafka StreamsExperience with Schema Registry and Avro or similar serialization approachesExperience with AWS services commonly used within event-driven/cloud-native architecturesInfrastructure-as-Code experience, such as TerraformContainerization and orchestration experience with Docker and KubernetesKnowledge of monitoring and observability for distributed systems#J-18808-Ljbffr
