Our sensors listen to pollinators, recognize birds by their song, and measure the health of beehives across Europe. We’re looking for the person who will decide what we build next: someone who speaks the language of electronics, software, and artificial intelligence and knows how to transform them into products that work in the rain, for years.
3Bee is the Italian nature-tech company that measures and regenerates biodiversity with proprietary sensors, satellites, and artificial intelligence: 115+ biodiversity oases regenerated, 50,000+ trees planted, 500+ schools involved, partners in 25 countries.
We are 40+ people, and the European Commission has chosen us twice with funding from the European Innovation Council (EIC). Our XNatura platform is used by companies, parks, and municipalities to measure nature.
What will you do?
- Lead the IoT device roadmap (Hive-Tech, Spectrum, Birdy, and the next generation): what to build, why, and in what order.
- Translate customer and researcher needs into clear requirements for hardware, firmware, cloud, and apps.
- Decide with the team where to run the AI: on the sensor, at the edge, or in the cloud, balancing battery life, cost, and accuracy.
- Follow the complete cycle: prototype, field testing, certifications, production, and remote updates.
- Measure what matters: incoming data, active devices, quality of recognition, and cost per installation.
- Work daily with the IoT team and the lab, the XNatura platform,
and vendors.
What you need We need:
- Experience as a product manager, product engineer, or similar role on products that combine hardware and software.
- At least one connected device brought to production, with its own real-world challenges.
- Concrete experience designing AI features: models based on sensor data, edge AI, quality assessment.
- Clear specifications, clear priorities, and the courage to say no.
- Professional English.
We’d love it if:
- You’re familiar with LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, or low-power cellular networks.
- You’ve worked with bioacoustics, computer vision, or environmental data.
- You have a background in engineering, physics, or computer science.

How the selection process works:
an introductory call, a technical interview with the IoT team, a product case study to discuss together (no lengthy homework), then a meeting with the CEO. We always get back to you, even if it’s a no. The selection process is open to people of all genders, ages, and backgrounds (Legislative Decree 198/2006).
