UNICC is dedicated to the SDGs, making SDG-5 (Gender Equality) and SDG-10 (Reduce Inequalities) the organization goals. /p h3Background information: /h3 pThis is technician position for the support of the applications under the portfolio of Digital Solution Managed Services Section (DSM), within UNICC’s Digital Solutions Division, located in Brindisi, Italy and Valencia, Spain. This support is required to fill the vacant consultant position and due to the increased amount of work requested by the customer. /p h3Required Profile: /h3 pThe consultant is expected to bring specialist or expert-level proficiency in application maintenance and general IT support, preferably with experience providing Tier-2 support for business applications, enterprise tools or database administration.
The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the DSM Team Lead, and in close collaboration with other DSM members and units. /p h3Scope of Work / Duties of Consultant: /h3 ul liProvide day-to-day support and maintenance of applications and tools for the UNICC and partners; /li liPerform database administration tasks of MSSQL and open source databases; /li liResolve in a timely manner Tier-2 application issues and elevate Tier-3 issues to Designated focal points; /li liAssist in the evaluation,
configuration and installation of new releases in accordance with established configuration management standards; /li liAssist in applications structural changes required during system upgrades; /li liAssist in the deployment of tools and in the implementation of processes to assist in operational support; /li liAssist in responding to application-related queries from end users in remote locations; /li liFacilitate knowledge transfer to Tier-1 and deliver end-user training sessions on the application functionality. /li liAssist in the development and in the updating of software applications related documentation, including technical documentation and system reports, attend operational and other meetings; /li liProvide standby and on-call 24×7 support, and work in shifts when requested; /li liProvide other ad hoc support either within your team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period of time on a tempo parziale or full-time basis upon request from the senior management; /li liPerform other duties, as required. /li /ul h3Required Technical Skills: /h3 pThe resource bMUST /bhave the following skills and experience:
/p ul liThree to five years of experience in application maintenance and general IT support; /li liGood working knowledge of client/server applications in a Windows/Linux environment; /li liGood working knowledge of Database Management; /li liVery good knowledge of English (both written and verbal) is required. /li liHigh school diploma /li /ul pThe resource bSHOULD /bhave the following skills and experience: /p ul liAt least three years of experience administering Microsoft Windows server, SQL Server databases and .NET applications. /li liGood working knowledge of MySQL, RedHat Linux server, and Drupal applications /li liGood working knowledge of global Active Directory Architecture, AWS and Azure /li liFamiliarity with United Nations policy framework for International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) or compliant operational concepts and processes /li liKnowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable /li /ul h3Required Soft Skills: /h3 ul liAbility to grasp complex concepts, logical and analytical approach to solving problems /li liAbility to work under pressure and with minimum supervision /li liGood interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team of diverse skills /li liWillingness to improve knowledge and skills and learn new technologies /li /ul h3Desirable certifications: /h3 ul liCertifications and advanced training in Microsoft technologies /li liCertification and familiarity with ITIL concepts and processes /li /ul h3Teleworking: /h3 pUp to one day of teleworking per week is permitted. /p h3On-call: /h3 pThe consultant will participate in an on-call rotation, expected to be approximately one week per month depending on team size.
