Qubika
We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to build the backend services of a new data ingestion platform for our client, a company in the insurance industry. The platform will receive and track data from external partners (MGAs, TPAs and others), replacing scattered submissions by email, file-sharing tools and direct S3 access with one standard ingestion channel. You’ll own API development and backend engineering, working with Qubika’s data and DevOps teams and with a separate front-end team. What you’ll do
• Build a standalone ingestion API that receives submissions and gives the front end reference data, required-file lists and submission status. You’ll agree on the API contract with the front-end team before implementation.
• Make sure every incoming file lands in S3 with the required metadata and tags. This includes validation rules, clear error responses, and reliable handling of failed or duplicate submissions.
• Build tracking and auditability by integrating with the client’s data catalog (PostgreSQL-based) to record what was received, from whom and when, and to track each submission’s status.
• Build backend configuration for required files, reporting periods and due dates per partner. Partners that submit on behalf of several organizations should work without custom code for each one.
• Define and enforce tenant isolation and authorization, so external users only see the organizations and submissions they’re allowed to.
• Support configuration-driven routing of files to downstream processing systems.
• Work with DevOps on deployment, CI/CD, service accounts and configuration, including automated testing, logging, monitoring and technical documentation. What we’re looking for
• Senior-level, hands-on experience building and running backend applications and APIs
• Experience with AWS, especially S3, IAM and secure file ingestion
• Strong relational database skills, including PostgreSQL, metadata modeling and audit trails
• Experience implementing authentication, authorization and access controls in multi-tenant applications
• Ability to design configurable workflows, reliable integrations and maintainable services
• Experience working with a separate front-end team through documented API contracts
• Comfortable recommending practical engineering standards in an organization building its first application
• Advanced English Nice to have
• Experience with Okta
• Experience with Databricks / Lakebase
• Experience building external partner portals This job opening includes people registered in the National Registry for Persons with Disabilities (Registro Nacional de Personas con Discapacidad
