Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer in AECOM's Building Engineering team, you will lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services, focusing on HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection across diverse sectors. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions. The role combines technical leadership with project coordination, client engagement, and BD support in a global firm. You will contribute to high-impact projects such as data centres, healthcare, and critical facilities, shaping resilient infrastructure.

Responsabilità

- Lead design and delivery of mechanical building services (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) from concept through construction and completion
- Prepare and review calculations, specifications, reports, drawings, and design documentation
- Coordinate activities with other disciplines to ensure seamless project integration
- Manage deliverables, budgets, and schedules while upholding high technical standards




- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Attend client meetings and present engineering solutions
- Support business development, including bids and proposals
- Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, sustainability standards and best practices
- Contribute to innovation initiatives and process improvements

Requisiti fondamentali

- 5+ years of experience in mechanical building services engineering
- Strong expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design
- Experience delivering complex multidisciplinary projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM workflows
- Knowledge of Italian and international codes and standards
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management
- Professional registration or Chartered Engineer status is advantageous
- Fluent in Italian and English
- Experience with data centres, critical facilities, or healthcare projects desirable
