WELDING INSPECTOR – CWI

Location: ITALY

We are looking for a Welding Inspector holding an AWS CWI – Certified Welding Inspector certification.

The successful candidate will join the Quality team and will be responsible for inspecting welding activities related to the fabrication of steel structures and components, ensuring compliance with drawings, technical specifications, approved procedures and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform welding inspection activities on site;

-

Inspect welding activities on steel structures and metal fabrication components;

-

Verify the correct application of WPS, PQR and WPQ/WQT;

-

Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welded joints;

-

Verify joint preparation, fit-up, welding execution and finishing;

-

Check weld compliance with drawings, welding specifications and acceptance criteria;

-

Verify the correct identification and traceability of materials and welds;

-

Monitor welders' activities and ensure compliance with approved procedures;

-





Coordinate and/or supervise NDT – Non-Destructive Testing activities required by the Inspection and Test Plan;

-

Manage any Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs) and support the implementation of corrective actions;

-

Prepare and review quality inspection reports and welding documentation.

Requirements

-

AWS CWI – Certified Welding Inspector certification;

-

Previous experience as a Welding Inspector in steel structures / metal fabrication;

-

Knowledge of the main welding processes and related welding issues;

-

Good knowledge of WPS, PQR and WPQ/WQT;

-

Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, structural drawings and welding drawings;

-

Knowledge of applicable welding and steel structure standards and codes;

-

Knowledge of the main NDT – Non-Destructive Testing techniques will be considered a plus;

-

Availability to work on site.
