About This RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Teacher to guide our 3-5 year old classroom in Woodstock, VA. In this role, you will create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment that fosters the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of preschool-aged children. You will design engaging lesson plans, manage classroom dynamics, and build strong partnerships with families to ensure every child thrives.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement age-appropriate, play-based curriculum and daily lesson plans.
- Lead daily classroom activities, including circle time, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.
- Assess and document child development milestones and behavioral progress.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment adhering to state licensing standards.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding child progress and classroom updates.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA)
credential or an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education.
- At least 2 years of experience working as a lead or assistant teacher in a licensed preschool setting.
- Proven understanding of early childhood development milestones and positive behavior management.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications, or willingness to obtain them upon hire.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Familiarity with Virginia state child care licensing regulations.
- Experience utilizing digital parent communication applications like Brightwheel or Tadpoles. xysqume
