Position
We are looking for a hands-on IT Helpdesk Specialist who is passionate about technology to join our IT Department located in Asolo. You are the person friends and family call when their computer stops working: you build and upgrade your own PC, follow the latest hardware and enjoy solving technical problems. In this role you will be the first point of contact for our colleagues’ everyday IT needs, keeping computers, phones, workstations and printers running smoothly.
Main Responsibilities
- You will set up, configure and hand over new PCs and laptops for new and existing employees.
- You will prepare workstations: monitors, docking stations, keyboards, headsets and cabling.
- You will also set up and look after company mobile phones: configuration, accounts, replacements and repairs.
- You will diagnose and fix hardware problems, replace components such as memory, drives,
batteries and screens, but also carry out software installation and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 Office tools.
- You will clean and maintain devices, and collect, reset and prepare returned equipment for reuse.
- Moreover, you will solve everyday printer and peripheral issues, from paper jams to toner and driver problems.
- You will provide first-level support to colleagues in person, by phone and through the ticket system, and upscale more complex issues.
- You will carry out basic network troubleshooting: Wi-Fi, cabling and device connections.
- You will also keep the IT equipment inventory up to date.
Requirements
- A genuine passion for technology: for example, you build or upgrade your own PC, enjoy gaming hardware and are the go-to IT person for family and friends.
- Solid practical knowledge of PC and laptop hardware and of Windows; familiarity with macOS, iOS and Android is a plus.
- Knowledge of networks (Wi-Fi, routers, switches, IP addresses) as well as cybersecurity awareness will be considered a plus.
- A hands-on, patient and service-minded approach, with the ability to explain technical issues in simple words.
- Reliable and well organized, able to handle several requests at the same time.
- Good command of English – Please note Alpinestars is a fully English speaking working environment.
