We are looking for We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Accounting Intern (m/w/d), who desires to contribute to the growth and success of our Accounting Team in Milan. You will work side by side with our accountants on the full monthly closing cycle, gaining hands-on experience on the books of an international, fast-growing company. Your
key responsibilities
will include:
* Supporting day-to-day general accounting activities;
* Maintaining the fixed assets register: recording new acquisitions and disposals, checking depreciation schedules and reconciling the register with the general ledger;
* Performing bank, and balance sheet account reconciliations, investigating and clearing open items;
* Supporting the month-end closing process: accruals, prepayments,
and preparation of closing schedules within the reporting calendar;
* Preparing supporting documentation and reconciliation files for external auditors and following up on their requests during the audit of the financial statements;
* Maintaining accurate and complete accounting records;
* Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable activities;
* Assisting our tax advisors with VAT and other periodic filings and with the preparation of tax forms;
* Preparing recurring reports and simple analyses for the Finance team, and helping to document and improve our accounting processes. Your Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree (or final-year student) in Accounting, Economics, Finance or Business Administration; Accounting diploma is a plus;
* Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and general accounting principles (Italian GAAP; a first exposure to IFRS is a plus);
* A previous internship or academic project in accounting, finance or audit is welcome;
* Good knowledge of spreadsheet software, such as Excel (basic formulas and pivot tables); familiarity with NetSuite, an ERP or accounting software is a plus;
* Accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to handle numbers and deadlines carefully;
* Good time management, organisational and problem-solving skills,
with a proactive and hands-on attitude;
* Curiosity and a real willingness to learn, together with the confidence to ask questions in a collaborative team;
* Good level of English and Italian are mandatory;
* Eligibility to carry out an internship in Italy and availability to be based in our Milan office. Our offer Contract type: 6 Months Intern, with the possibility of renewal and/or subsequent employment within the company.
