h3The Role /h3 pAn excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to join a major hyperscale data centre development, overseeing the delivery of critical mechanical systems within a fast-paced, technically demanding construction environment. /p pThis role is suited to a construction professional with a strong background in large-scale data centre or mission-critical projects, combining hands-on site management, contractor coordination and technical oversight to drive installation quality, programme performance and commissioning readiness. /p h3The Role /h3 pWorking closely with the General Contractor, mechanical subcontractors and wider project team, the successful candidate will oversee mechanical construction activities from design coordination and procurement through installation, testing, commissioning and handover. /p pThe position will play a key role in ensuring mechanical systems are installed to the required quality standards, construction activities remain aligned with project milestones, and technical or programme-related issues are identified and resolved at the earliest opportunity. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liReview mechanical issued-for-construction designs to establish scope, identify potential installation challenges and highlight design discrepancies requiring resolution. /li liSupport the development and review of mechanical shop drawings, monitoring progress against programme requirements. /li liAssist with technical reviews of proposed materials and equipment, tracking approvals and procurement to ensure timely delivery to site. /li liMonitor mechanical installation activities, ensuring appropriate labour, plant, equipment and resources are available to maintain construction progress. /li liUndertake regular site inspections to monitor workmanship,



installation quality and compliance with project specifications and required standards, minimising defects and rework. /li liCoordinate mechanical subcontractors and the General Contractor to resolve access constraints, construction interfaces and sequencing issues. /li liDevelop and monitor short‑term construction programmes and labour forecasts, implementing recovery plans where progress falls behind schedule. /li liSupport the preparation and review of method statements and assist site teams in resolving technical and installation queries. /li liDevelop mechanical flushing strategies and associated method statements, coordinating system readiness ahead of testing and commissioning. /li liConduct mechanical system walkdowns to verify installation completeness and readiness for testing. /li liOversee mechanical testing and commissioning activities, including pressure testing, leak testing, flushing, cleaning and balancing. /li liCoordinate with specialist equipment suppliers to ensure installation, testing and commissioning requirements are understood and achieved. /li liSupport the commissioning of mechanical systems through advanced commissioning stages, working closely with contractors and commissioning specialists. /li liEnsure mechanical systems outside the primary commissioning team's scope, including plumbing, office‑area testing and balancing, fire suppression and external building HVAC, are properly tested, commissioned and documented.



/li liDrive the resolution of outstanding defects and commissioning issues, supporting final inspections, system acceptance and handover. /li liShare technical expertise and project experience with mechanical contractors to promote consistent installation standards and continuous improvement across project phases. /li /ul h3Candidate Profile /h3 ul liSignificant experience in mechanical construction management on large-scale data centre or mission‑critical projects. /li liStrong technical knowledge of chilled water systems, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and associated mechanical infrastructure. /li liProven ability to manage mechanical subcontractors and coordinate installation activities within complex construction programmes. /li liExperience reviewing mechanical drawings, shop drawings, material submissions and installation methodologies. /li liDemonstrable expertise in construction sequencing, resource planning, programme recovery and site progress monitoring. /li liStrong understanding of mechanical testing, flushing, pressure testing, testing and balancing, and commissioning processes. /li liExperience supporting integrated commissioning programmes and working with commissioning teams, specialist contractors and equipment suppliers. /li liA proactive, hands‑on approach to site management, with the ability to identify technical issues early and drive practical solutions. /li liStrong communication and coordination skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with site teams, contractors and senior project stakeholders. /li /ul h3Confidential Enquiries /h3 pExperienced Mechanical Construction Managers with a proven background in mission‑critical construction are invited to apply.
