h3Who We Are /h3 /brpWe are looking for an experienced Senior Java Kafka Engineer to join a team building modern, cloud-based, data-driven applications and real-time streaming solutions.
We are particularly interested in engineers who sit at the intersection of backend software engineering and data streaming.
/p /brpThe right profile should be comfortable writing substantial Java business logic, while also understanding how applications interact through Kafka-based asynchronous and event-driven architectures.
/p /brpThis is not a pure DevOps role.
The position involves hands-on software engineering and the development of business logic using Java, rather than focusing primarily on infrastructure management, CI/CD pipelines, or platform operations.
/p /brpAt the same time, this is more than a traditional Backend Java role.
The focus goes beyond standard REST/CRUD applications, with a strong emphasis on event-driven architectures, real-time data processing, Kafka-based integrations, and cloud-native solutions running on AWS.
/p /brpThe ideal candidate has a strong Java engineering background combined with practical experience designing and implementing solutions using Apache Kafka.
Experience with Confluent Kafka / Confluent Platform is highly desirable but not mandatory.
/p /brh3What You'll Be Doing /h3 /brul /brliDesign, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services supporting data-driven business processes /li /brliBuild and evolve event-driven and real-time data streaming architectures using Apache Kafka /li /brliDevelop Kafka producers, consumers, event-processing components, and integration services /li /brliDesign reliable and scalable communication patterns between distributed systems /li /brliBuild cloud-native solutions and deploy/integrate applications within AWS environments /li /brliImplement business logic around asynchronous events and streaming data /li /brliEnsure solutions are scalable, resilient,
maintainable, and production-ready /li /brliTroubleshoot application, integration, and data-streaming issues across distributed environments /li /brliContribute to technical design and architectural discussions around Java, Kafka, AWS, and event-driven systems /li /brliCollaborate with software engineers, architects, DevOps/cloud engineers, and other technical stakeholders /li /brliApply software engineering best practices, including automated testing, code reviews, observability, and CI/CD /li /br /ul /brh3What you'll bring along /h3 /brul /brliBSc/MSc in Computer Science or related field /li /brliMinimum 6-8+ years of experience /li /brliStrong hands-on experience with Java and modern Java development /li /brliSolid experience with Apache Kafka in production environments /li /brliGood understanding of: Kafka producers and consumers; topics and partitions; consumer groups and offsets; event-driven architecture; asynchronous processing; failure handling and resiliency /li /brliExperience designing or developing distributed, event-driven systems /li /brliPractical experience with AWS and cloud-based application environments /li /brliExperience developing APIs and integration services /li /brliGood understanding of microservices and distributed application architectures /li /brliExperience with automated testing, Git, CI/CD, and modern software engineering practices /li /brliStrong analytical and problem-solving skills /li /brliNice to Have: /li /brliExperience with Confluent Kafka / Confluent Platform /li /brliExperience with Kafka Streams /li /brliExperience with Schema Registry and Avro or similar serialization approaches /li /brliExperience with AWS services commonly used within event-driven/cloud-native architectures /li /brliInfrastructure-as-Code experience, such as Terraform /li /brliContainerization and orchestration experience with Docker and Kubernetes /li /brliKnowledge of monitoring and observability for distributed systems /li /br /ul #J-*****-Ljbffr
