You will leverage Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Android Views to deliver reliable, high-performing mobile experiences. You will play a key role in implementing accessibility features, improving navigation, and optimising interactions with assistive technologies such as TalkBack. Working at the intersection of mobile engineering and accessibility, you will contribute to quality assurance and compliance with recognised accessibility standards. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through technical expertise while contributing to long-term international projects in a fully remote environment. /p br/ bAccountabilities: /b pAs a Senior Android Developer, you will be responsible for developing robust native Android applications while ensuring that accessibility is integrated throughout the development lifecycle. Your main responsibilities will include: /p ul lipDevelop and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin, implementing new features and enhancing existing functionality. /p /li lipBuild and improve application components using Jetpack Compose and/or traditional Android Views. /p /li lipEnsure application stability, performance, maintainability, and high code quality. /p /li lipImplement and optimise accessibility features to deliver inclusive mobile experiences. /p /li lipEnsure compatibility with TalkBack and leverage Android Accessibility APIs and Compose Semantics.
/p /li lipConfigure and improve content descriptions, accessibility roles, and states to support assistive technologies. /p /li lipManage accessibility focus and navigation to provide a consistent and intuitive user experience. /p /li lipSupport scalable text, accessible font sizes, and appropriately sized touch targets. /p /li lipConduct accessibility testing, particularly with TalkBack, to identify and resolve usability issues. /p /li lipValidate accessibility implementations against relevant standards and support compliance with WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 guidelines. /p /li /ul pbRequirements: /b /p pThe ideal candidate is an experienced Android developer with strong Kotlin skills and substantial hands‑on expertise in mobile accessibility. You should be comfortable developing native applications, identifying accessibility challenges, and delivering practical solutions that improve the user experience. The following qualifications and skills are required: /p ul lipAt least 5 years of professional experience in native Android development. /p /li lipStrong practical knowledge of Kotlin. /p /li lipCommercial experience with Jetpack Compose and/or Android Views. /p /li lipExtensive hands‑on experience implementing accessibility features in native Android applications. /p /li lipStrong practical experience using TalkBack. /p /li lipExperience with Android Accessibility APIs and/or Compose Semantics. /p /li lipProven experience implementing content descriptions,
