Offer Description

- The research position is related to the developments of the activities to engineer a testbed platform for quantum networks.

In particular, the experimental research activity will focus on the implementation, characterization, and validation of a metropolitan quantum network based on optical fibre, aimed at interconnecting remote quantum processors and quantum-network nodes. The activities will address the transmission of qubits and the generation and distribution of entangled states across different network nodes.





The research programme will also include the development and validation of solutions for network contro and orchestration according to a hardware-agnostic approach, aimed at managing and coordinating network resources independently of the specific technology of the underlying devices. These activities will contribute to the definition of a modular, interoperable, and scalable experimental platform capable of supporting the execution and evaluation of advanced protocols for the future Quantum Internet.

The researcher will contribute to the planning of experimental activities, the analysis and interpretation of the obtained results, and the drafting of papers for publication in intemational peer-reviewedjournals.

The researcher will also contribute to the dissemination of the research results. xivgfpx Under the supervision of the Scientific Coordinator, the researcher may also contribute to third-mission activities, including technology transfer, exploitation and dissemination of research results, and support for collaborative initiatives with public bodies, industria partners, and other stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem
