Bus Driver - Part Time

The Bus Driver will be responsible for providing safe, reliable, courteous and efficient transportation service for our program participants. Transports children and staff to schools, field trips, and other locations as approved by the Director and provides supervision and direction to children.
18.00 per hour without School Bus Endorsement
~$25.00 per hour with School Bus Endorsement

Exemplifies appropriate behavior and is a role model for participants; actively listens to all children and shows patience, understanding, and respect for others.
disciplines children within established guidelines of the YMCA and parents, and only when appropriate.
Immediately reports all unusual incidents or accidents to the Transportation Coordinator.
2+ years of experience transporting children highly desirable.
~ Must possess a valid and active driver’s license (Commercial Driver’s License required).
~ Ability to meet federal, state, and company driving standards (may include license verification, drug testing, and driver’s test).
~ Must meet motor vehicle records clearance requirements.
~ Must meet all health requirements as required by licensing.
~ Understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official questions, and make legible entries on reports and records.
~ Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and staff.
~ Must have compassion for and desire to work with children.
~ Certifications and Training Requirements
CDL License Required.
High school Diploma or equivalent.
CPR and First Aid Certification.
Completion of Redwoods Child Sexual Abuse Prevention training.
Completion of Redwoods Blood Borne Pathogens training.
Additional training classes as recommended by Supervisor.
