Have you ever built something from zero to its first real revenue, with no playbook and nobody to escalate to? Do you believe the next great insurance company will be built AI-first, not just digitized? Do you want to put a challenger brand on the map in one of Europe's largest insurance markets?
If the answer is YES: we're looking for a Country Manager for Italy to join our internationalization team. You'll lead Tuio's launch in Italy end to end, from the first hire to the first thousands of customers.

Tuio is one of the leading insurtechs in Southern Europe, with 100,000+ customers in Spain, backed by top-tier investors including MAPFRE and BlackRock. We specialize in personal lines: home, auto, pet and life insurance.
We're building the agentic insurance company of the future:
- First insurance player integrated into ChatGPT.
- #1 in AI visibility in Spain: when people ask an AI assistant about insurance, Tuio shows up.
- AI across the full insurance value chain: pricing, underwriting, sales, customer service and claims.
After closing our latest funding round, we're taking the Tuio model to several markets in Europe and Latin America. Our internationalization team is leading that journey, and Italy is one of the first markets. You'll launch it.
THE MISSION
Your goal is clear: launch Tuio in Italy and have it fully operational and generating significant revenue by the end of 2027. Not a pilot or a test market, but a real business with real customers and healthy unit economics. You'll get there with three bets:
- Deploy what already works, adapted to Italy. You won't start from a blank page. In Spain we've built proven building blocks: digital acquisition, digital product, claims management and AI agents. Your job is to take them to Italy and adapt them to how Italians buy, pay and claim, deciding what to reuse as is, what to localize and what to rebuild.
- Launch fast, without cutting corners. Take Tuio from zero to live in Italy: local setup, carrier and distribution partners, local team and first customers, with every process compliant with Italian insurance regulation from day one.
- Make Italy the blueprint. Build processes that scale 10x, with AI agents doing the heavy lifting, and turn what you learn into the playbook for Tuio's next countries.
WHAT WILL YOUR DAY-TO-DAY LOOK LIKE AT TUIO?
As Country Manager, you'll report to our internationalization team and be part of it, working side by side with the people building Tuio's international model and with our teams in Spain.
You will
- Own the Italy launch plan: targets, budget, milestones and the decisions behind them, with regular progress reporting.
- Deploy and adapt Tuio's building blocks to the Italian market:
- Digital acquisition: paid, SEO/GEO and comparators, tuned to Italian search and buying behavior.
- Digital product: purchase flow, coverage, payments and pricing, localized for Italian customers.
- Claims management: local repair networks, suppliers and processes.
- AI agents: our sales and service agents, trained and optimized for Italian customers.
- Set up the company foundations in Italy, together with our legal and regulatory team and local advisors.
- Own regulatory compliance in Italy: master the local insurance regulation (IVASS) in detail and make sure every process is compliant, from customer acquisition and sales to claims management and regulatory reporting.
- Hire the first local team and get the core operations running across acquisition, partnerships, claims and customer support.
- Drive commercial growth: own customer acquisition and the numbers behind it from day one.
- Build local relationships with distribution partners, suppliers, claims specialists, etc.
- Use AI to move faster and decide better: market research, pricing hypotheses, campaign testing, operations. If a task can be done by an agent, it should be.
- Be our voice of the Italian customer, feeding back what needs to change in our building blocks so Italy gets a product built for Italians, not a translation of Spain.
YOU 'RE WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR IF...
- You've built something from 0 to first revenues, whether a company, a new business line or a country launch, with extreme ownership.
You can walk us through it with numbers.
- You're hands-on with AI. You can show us a personal project you've built with AI to make your life (or work) easier. We'll ask to see it.
- You've designed, built and operated key processes, not just documented them. You know what breaks when volume multiplies.
- You're data-driven. You frame decisions as hypotheses, test them with numbers and change your mind when the data says so.
- You have commercial drive. You love growing a customer base, and you can do it while building the structure behind it.
- You thrive in ambiguity and speed. Monday's task might be a partner negotiation, Tuesday's a paid campaign, Wednesday's a hiring interview.
- You're fluent in Italian and English, and based in Italy or willing to relocate (Milan preferred), with regular time in Madrid.
YOU'LL STAND OUT IF...
- You have experience in insurance, especially auto or home. It's a plus, not a requirement.
- You've launched a country or a city for a high-growth startup or scale-up (mobility, delivery, fintech, insurtech).
- You've built a team from scratch, including your first hires.
- You are fluent in Spanish
