The Buyer will join the Purchasing Department and will be responsible for managing the procurement of direct and indirect materials required to support BMP Tappi's manufacturing operations. The role will involve close daily collaboration with Production, Planning, Quality, and Warehouse teams to ensure material availability, cost efficiency, and compliance with agreed supplier delivery schedules.
Typical Accountabilities:
- Manage the procurement of assigned products and materials in accordance with company procedures, policies, and contractual agreements, working with existing suppliers
- Maintain relationships with domestic and international suppliers for quotations, samples, quality-related matters, logistics information, and other procurement-related activities
- Manage and maintain supplier master data
- Create, issue, and update purchase orders within the company ERP system
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries and address any delays or supply issues
- Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop new suppliers at both national and international level
- Analyse production requirements in collaboration with the Planning team to ensure timely material availability.
- Manage supplier-related non-conformities in cooperation with the Quality Department
- Monitor supplier performance through defined KPIs and service level indicators
- Prepare reports and analyses on purchasing costs, supplier performance, and commodity market trends
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing procedures, policies, and Group procurement guidelines
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience in a Purchasing/Buyer role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Good understanding of procurement and supply chain processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to plan and manage multiple activities while meeting deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across different business functions
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience in cost analysis and cost reduction initiatives
- Experience monitoring supplier performance through KPIs
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
- Knowledge of supplier quality processes and ISO standards
- Experience in supplier sourcing, qualification, and development activities
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on process optimisation

- €25,000 to €28,000 gross annual salary, dependent upon experience and skills
