Position
We are currently in the process of recruiting a candidate to cover a position of Packaging Engineer.
THE IMPACT: S/He designs, develops, and produces packaging component samples (prototypes) for Stock Keeping Unit (SKU), with the aim of proposing solutions that meet project requirements while adhering to defined timelines and cost targets.
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Design packaging components (e.g., paper, cardboard, plastic, and other materials) using CAD software, developing the complete protection system for Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) (e.g., cooker hoods, HOBs, A-HOBs, etc.) to ensure product integrity during handling, transportation, and storage through to the final customer;
- Manage and maintain packaging component Bills of Materials (BoMs) within the PLM system, ensuring data accuracy and consistency;
- Create packaging samples and prototypes during the development phase by directly cutting raw materials (cardboard) to validate solutions and geometries using dedicated equipment (cardboard cutting plotter);
- Work closely with the laboratory team on packaging tests for Stock Keeping Unit (SKU), analyzing test results and defining any necessary corrective actions;
- Collaborate with engineering departments across manufacturing plants to implement changes identified during project gate reviews;
- Ensure compliance with project milestones for both new and existing products, delivering all required packaging-related outputs at each project gate;
- Prepare and update technical specifications (ETS – Elica Technical Specifications) for packaging components, aligning them with project, production, and market requirements;
- Support the QHSE organization by providing data required for sustainability certifications and compliance with market regulations (e.g., product component weight, material composition, etc.);
- Work together with the Purchasing Department in the evaluation of supplier quotations and in the scouting of new packaging technologies and manufacturing solutions (e.g., honeycomb structures).
Requirements
- At least Technical Diploma in Mechanics;
- Professional working proficiency in both Italian and English are a must-have;
- Good Knowledge of CAD 3D/2D (preferably Creo Parametrics);
- Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office pack;
- At least 3 years of experience in similar role;
- Team Working, Analytical Approach and curiosity will complete the profile.

Compensation & Benefits
The role offers a Level C2 classification under the CCNL Metalmeccanico Industria collective agreement, with an indicative gross annual salary (RAL) starting from € 27.000, commensurate with experience and competencies, in addition to an incentive scheme and benefits.
