Who we are looking for We are looking for a Senior Project Manager, Assistant Vice President, reporting to the Head of Project Management Office, Italy, within the wider State Street Bank International (SSBI) Business Projects and Transformation team. You will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of complex strategic, regulatory, risk-remediation and transformation initiatives across SSBI and the Italian Branch.

What you will be responsible forAs a Senior Project Manager, Assistant Vice President, you will:Lead complex initiatives – including regulatory, internal audit and risk remediation projects, client commitments and system migrations – from initiation and planning through delivery and execution, closure and handover to accountable business ownersDefine project scope, objectives, plan, deliverables, and success measures, identifying resource and budget requirements and budget, managing dependencies across business, technology, risk and control functions, global teams and other SSBI locationsEstablish and ensure effective project governance: lead working groups and Steering Committees and provide requested reporting to local and SSBI governance bodiesProactively identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies,
defining corrective actions and escalating in a timely manner when neededManage stakeholder alignment and project communications, challenge constructively where required, and secure clear ownership and timely decisionsFormalize deliverables approval and project closure, documenting residual risks, success measures and benefits and summarizing lessons learnedMaintain accurate and auditable project records in accordance with the SSBI project management framework, information-classification requirements and applicable record-retention standardsundefinedSupport demand and portfolio management by assessing new requests, clarifying outcomes and dependencies, and contributing to sizing, capacity assessment and prioritisationPromote project management best practices, support colleagues in the adoption of methodologies and tools, and contribute to the continuous improvement of PM proceduresWhat we valueThese skills will help you succeed in this role

· Strong leadership skills, team player and able to work across geographies and culturesEducation & Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline
· At least 10 years of relevant project management experience, in banking, asset servicing or similarWorking knowledge of predictive, agile and hybrid delivery approaches; a project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent qualification is an advantageProficiency in Microsoft 365, including Excel and PowerPoint, and experience with project planning, collaboration and portfolio management tools; practical AI literacy and familiarity with generative AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, applied responsibly in line with internal data, confidentiality and AI-use requirementsFluency in Italian and English, written and spokenAdditional requirementsKnowledge of custody, depositary bank and fund administration services is desirableFamiliarity with the European banking regulatory framework (e.g. ECB, Bank of Italy, EBA guidelines, DORA) is a plusExperience working with first and second-line risk and control functions, Internal Audit, regulators or external auditors is considered an advantageWork RequirementHybrid working model, based in the Milan office, in line with State Street’s local hybrid work policyMinimum
