Previous Preposto training is advantageous but not essential at application stage, as the required training can be provided during onboarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate daily site operations, subcontractors, trades and suppliers.
- Oversee phased construction activities, ensuring effective coordination across multiple workstreams.
- Manage site activities involving significant MEP installations and interfaces.
- Coordinate construction works within a live, operational environment, minimising disruption and maintaining safe working conditions.
- Monitor project programmes, proactively identifying risks, delays and opportunities to improve delivery.
- Fulfil the designated Preposto responsibilities under D. Lgs. 81/08, supervising workplace safety and compliance with established procedures.
- Carry out regular site inspections, maintaining high standards of workmanship, quality and safety.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with technical drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Maintain accurate progress reports, site records and project documentation, using platforms such as Procore.
- Work collaboratively with Project Managers, consultants and other stakeholders to resolve technical and operational challenges.
- Support snagging, handover and successful project completion.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Site Manager who can confidently manage a complex construction environment, coordinate multiple trades and take ownership of site delivery from day one.
- At least 3–5 years' proven experience working as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager.
- Strong construction site management experience, ideally within commercial fit-out, refurbishment or design-and-build environments.
- Demonstrable experience managing subcontractors, coordinating trades and delivering projects to demanding programmes.
- Solid understanding of Italian construction health and safety requirements and site compliance.
- Willingness and ability to undertake the formal responsibilities of Preposto under D. Lgs. 81/08, including completing the required training if not already qualified.
- Fluent Italian communication skills.
- Strong organisational, leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- Availability to work full-time on site in Pavia, including occasional weekends when required.
- Ability to work on a freelance basis.
- Previous experience acting as a designated Preposto, with the relevant training already completed.
- Experience delivering MEP-intensive construction or fit-out projects.
- Experience coordinating phased or fast-track construction programmes.
- Experience managing works within live or occupied buildings.
- Previous experience using Procore or similar construction management platforms.
- Basic English communication skills.
