Company overviewleonardo is a global industrial group operating in aerospace, defence and security, with over 60,000 employees worldwide and a strong presence in italy, the uk, poland and the us.role overviewthe delivery manager vendor management is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of vendor-provided products and services that enable digital engineering capabilities. the role ensures compliance with contractual obligations, roadmaps, schedules and quality standards.key responsibilitiesmanage the full vendor lifecycle, from contract governance to sla monitoring and performance rating.drive cost optimisation and ensure value for money while maintaining alignment with programme objectives.support tool-set selection and technology evaluations in collaboration with stakeholders.coordinate upgrades, enhancements and de-commissioning of vendor solutions.act as the primary interface between vendors and internal stakeholders, communicating expectations, risks and progress.define and enforce vendor performance metrics, sla adherence and structured rating mechanisms.support audit,
quality assurance and regulatory compliance activities.collaborate with other delivery managers and product owners to align vendor activities with programme priorities.qualificationsat least 5 years of experience in vendor management or delivery management within complex, regulated environments (e.g., aerospace, defence).degree in engineering, business management, supply chain or a related technical discipline.proven experience in contract management, sla enforcement and vendor performance monitoring.strong understanding of governance frameworks, compliance requirements and risk management.experience with cost optimisation and value-for-money strategies.excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.what we offerhybrid working model with a secondment of at least two years to reading (uk) and base location in italy.permanent contract, executive level employee.salary range €60 000-€75 000 plus 13th-month salary, performance premio and annual welfare benefits.ongoing training and professional development opportunities.well-being initiatives supporting economic, physical, social and psychological health.
