Senior Radiation Protection Technician
European citizens only Italian, English or French mandatory
Location:
JRC Joint Research Centre, Italy, around Milano area We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Radiation Protection Technician to join a nuclear environment project. This is a tempo pieno, on site opportunity for a senior technician with solid hands on experience in radiation protection and operational support within highly regulated nuclear environments.
Key responsibilities
• Monitor radiation levels and help ensure the safety of controlled and exposed areas.
• Perform area monitoring and radiometric measurements for radiation dose and contamination.
• Conduct regular inspections and ensure radiological protection equipment is properly maintained.
• Operate instruments used for contamination assessment, including smear test monitors, scintillation detectors, and gamma spectrometry analyzers.
• Carry out briefing and debriefing related to ongoing site activities.
• Support and train staff on radiological safety procedures and best practices.
• Prepare technical documentation related to radiological measurements and monitoring activities. Candidate profile
• Minimum 4 years of operational experience in the nuclear and radiation protection field.
• Strong practical knowledge of radiological monitoring and contamination control.
• Experience using radiation detection and measurement equipment.
• Ability to work accurately and rigorously in a highly regulated environment.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to support operational teams on site and ensure compliance with radiological safety procedures. Additional information
