Aero Alliance Repair Engineer
Summary within the l5 component repair insourcing program the repair engineer will be responsible for one or more component families in the aajv global shops network.
the role includes developing technical knowledge of aajv products, supporting senior repair engineers, and becoming the subject‑matter expert for the assigned portfolio.
essential responsibilities
- introduce new component repair processes in aajv global shops.
- provide technical support for component repair qualifications of repair vendors.
- develop standard repair routers, block diagrams, inspection forms and qualification requirements for new and existing l5 repairs, including document updates and qms/plm maintenance.
- partner with manufacturing engineers to define work instructions, fixtures and tooling needed for repair processes.
- support roll‑out and industrialisation of new l5 repair technologies and related equipment at aajv global shops and vendor sites, coordinating with process engineers, pmo and shop operations.
- act as technical owner of component repair in production,
evaluating inspection results and defining repair scopes, job routers and related documentation.
- work with shop operations and process engineers to define repair processes, ctqs, business intelligence and recovery plans.
- identify data‑driven opportunities for repair productivity and cost reduction and propose alternative processes.
qualifications
- master’s degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering or equivalent experience.
- willingness to be assigned to avenza (firenze) or port klang for on‑the‑job training and to relocate near the mesagne site.
- previous experience with aero‑derivative gas turbine products (e.g., lm2500, lm6000) is a plus.
- strong ability to work with local and remote teams across different cultures.
- solution‑oriented problem‑solver with strong interpersonal skills.
- fluency in english and italian, both written and spoken.
- full availability to travel worldwide on short notice for business purposes.
