Technical Product Owner
OneFinance 2026 is a Group-level Finance Transformation Program across 30+ Countries within the Generali Group, delivered by GOSP (the Group IT company) in partnership with leading consulting and technology firms. The program is building a harmonized Finance platform based on a single group template: local subledger systems feed a central Data Platform that harmonizes data into a common data model, which in turn feeds the Group ERP, integrated with procurement, consolidation, and regulatory compliance processes.
With the first country live, further waves in active delivery, and additional countries to follow, the program must deliver at pace. This means that, for reasons of time, architecture, or cost, some solutions go to production in a sub-optimal form and must be remediated afterwards. Governing this technical debt
- making it visible, prioritized, and resolved before it becomes operational risk
- and progressively decommissioning legacy local systems are strategic priorities for the program, with high visibility towards Group and Local Business Unit senior management.
We are looking for a senior Technical Product Owner to own the technical debt backlog of OneFinance 2026 end-to-end: identify sub-optimal solutions introduced at each country go-live, design the target remediation across the whole architecture, plan the resources and timeline needed, and drive delivery to closure. In parallel, you will engage with the Countries to shape and drive the decommissioning of local legacy systems, building the business cases that support those decisions.
The role is transversal by nature and requires strong architectural
skills:
it spans the full landscape
- local subledger integrations, the central Data Platform, the Group ERP template,
and satellite systems (technologies such as SAP S/4HANA, BTP, Azure Data Platform, Ivalua, and Tagetik, by way of example). The profile typically comes from solution or enterprise architecture, but with a strong delivery and project management imprint: you can define the technically right solution and estimate, plan, and hit the dates. You will lead a squad, coordinate external partners, and operate in a fast-moving, complex, international context, with direct exposure to senior management of the Group and of the Local Business Units, negotiating scope and priorities with country stakeholders and vendors.
Key responsibilities
of the role will include:
- Technical Debt Ownership: Build and own the program-level technical debt register across all go-lives. Classify each item by operational risk, architectural impact, and cost; define the remediation roadmap and secure its prioritization with the IT Program Director and workstream leads.
- Architecture & Cross-Platform Solutioning: Act as the architectural reference for remediation: design target-state solutions for items delivered as tactical workarounds across integration layers, data platform, ERP template, and satellite systems. Ensure solutions are coherent with the overall program architecture, integration patterns, and group template. Challenge sub-optimal designs proposed under time pressure,
assess downstream impact before they reach production, and contribute to the evolution of the target architecture.
- Local Systems Decommissioning & Business Case Development: Engage Country IT and Finance stakeholders to define the decommissioning roadmap of local legacy systems once migrated to the group platform. Develop and present business cases (cost savings, risk reduction, simplification, dependencies), align them with Local BU senior management, and track execution to closure.
- Backlog & Delivery Management: Translate remediation and decommissioning items into a prioritized, estimated backlog. Define resources required per deliverable, plan releases alongside parallel country rollouts, and track delivery to time and quality. Ensure fixes do not regress live countries.
- Squad Leadership & Partner Coordination: Functionally lead a squad of internal resources and coordinate external consultants and technology partners working on the backlog. Set standards, assign ownership, manage capacity, and build an internal capability over time. Act as the internal counterpart governing vendor deliverables (design quality, estimates, fixes).
- Stakeholder Management & Negotiation: Negotiate remediation and decommissioning scope, timing, and acceptance with country stakeholders, business operations, functional workstreams, and system integrators. Make technical trade-offs transparent and decision-ready for Group and Local BU senior management.
- Operational Risk & Go-Live Support: Contribute to go/no-go assessments by surfacing known debt accepted for each cutover, with mitigation and committed remediation dates. Partner with Test Management and Operations to monitor post-go-live stability
