We are dedicated to providing equal employment opportunities and fostering diversity in all its forms, creating an inclusive environment. We value the unique experiences, knowledge, backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives of our people. By embracing diversity, we believe science can achieve its fullest potential.

THE ROLE
You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where physicians, psychologists, biomedical engineers, computational scientists, physicists, chemists, and biologists experts collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research. The Multiscale Brain Communication Research unit (CTNSC) is coordinated by Prof. Luciano Fadiga, who has extensive experience in Neurophysiology.

The research focuses on studying the mechanisms by which non-invasive brain stimulation promote neuro-behavioral plasticity in healthy individuals. This includes the study of motor neurophysiology, by means of non-invasive neurophysiological methods, motion capture and electrophysiological methods.

Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:

Designing experiments within the CTNSC research lines and, more specifically within the Brain & Machine Flagship project

Explore new non-invasive protocols to induce neural plasticity in motor circuits responsible for the planning, programming and execution of goal-directed reaching-grasping actions

Analyzing data and writing scientific reports

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

A PhD in neuroscience, and similar disciplines

Documented experience on the use of non-invasive brain stimulation

A strong publication record

The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data

Good command in spoken and written English

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

Experience on Electromyography and online brain stimulation protocols

Knowledge of matlab/python programming for statistical analyses and signal processing

Good communication skills

Strong problem solving attitude

High motivation to learn

Spirit of innovation and creativity

Good in time and priority management

Ability to work in a challenging and international environment

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment

Previous successful experience working with the Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia will be considered an advantage, all other evaluation criteria being equal.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

A yearly gross salary of 30.000,00 euro

Private health care coverage depending on your role and contract
