Make an impact on the future of electric mobility
Take your next career step at ABB with a global team that is energising the transformation of society and industry to achieve a more productive, sustainable future.
At ABB E-mobility, we help our customers electrify mobility. As a world leader in EV charging technology, with a strong R&D; pipeline and an unparalleled global reach, we offer a robust portfolio of innovative, holistic solutions, from grid to charge point and from domestic installations to large fleet depots. We are actively enabling the future of e-mobility, not just predicting it, and this work goes hand in hand with our Mission to Zero initiative to support cleaner and greener communities for all.
We are looking for a Global Head of IT to lead the full corporate technology function at ABB E-mobility.
In this role, you will own the corporate IT agenda across infrastructure, operations, the digital workplace and our AI transformation, working with senior business leaders and a distributed IT organisation to ensure the business runs on a secure, reliable and scalable technology foundation.
This is an executive-level role reporting to our Chief Operating Officer, with ownership of a global budget and a broad vendor ecosystem. It is not a caretaker role. We are looking for an experienced IT executive who combines strategic clarity with strong operational discipline and a genuine business-partner mindset.
What You Do
- Own the multi-year global IT roadmap, aligned to ABB E-mobility’s growth targets and business-wide technology needs,
translating business strategy into prioritised technology investments and making the case for IT with rigorous business-value frameworks.
- Build an autonomous technology function that serves a fast-growing, stand‑alone business as ABB E-mobility becomes independent from ABB Group, and finalise the carve-out, including the exit from the remaining service level agreements with ABB Group.
- Drive the introduction of AI across the company wherever there is a clear business case, from ERP and core business processes to personal productivity, defining the execution pathway and selecting the right mix of in-house development, partnerships and vendor solutions.
- Champion the integration of AI into the way the business runs, adapting processes, ways of working and governance so that AI becomes an effective multiplier for the business rather than only an advanced research tool, and actively identifying AI and automation opportunities that make the business faster and smarter.
- Lead end-to-end corporate IT infrastructure for a globally distributed workforce across Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, owning office networks, LAN, SD-WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi and connectivity standards across all sites so every employee has reliable, high-performance infrastructure wherever they work.
- Oversee the Global IT Service Desk, with ITIL-aligned processes, clear ownership of service level agreements (SLAs)
and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Direct the strategy and optimisation of our digital workplace and identity management, including Microsoft 365 and collaboration tooling, and drive adoption so that our globally distributed, hybrid workforce can operate with excellence.
- Safeguard the company by defining and enforcing our corporate cybersecurity posture in line with ABB E-mobility standards and key regulations, owning the security stack (endpoint protection, multi-factor authentication and vulnerability management) and leading incident response planning and business continuity and disaster recovery programmes.
- Manage the global corporate IT budget with disciplined financial stewardship, building transparent cost models that business stakeholders and Finance leadership understand and trust, and driving cost optimisation without compromising reliability or security.
- Develop a high-performing global IT organisation with a relentless focus on business outcomes, leading with clarity of purpose and strong execution rhythms across key hubs in Italy, the Netherlands, the US, Canada and China, among others, where ABB E-mobility operates major owned facilities, and championing an "IT as a business partner" mindset across all functions.
