For an assignment at a major infrastructure and mobility hub in Northern Italy, located in Rho, we are looking for a Safety Operator for Autonomous Vehicles. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day operation, monitoring, testing and validation of autonomous vehicles in real-world and controlled operating environments. They will oversee vehicle behaviour during missions, take control of the vehicle whenever necessary and strictly adhere to all applicable safety procedures. The role will also involve collecting and organising data and supporting evidence, documenting anomalies and operating conditions, contributing to technical reporting, and collaborating with engineering teams to analyse issues and drive the continuous improvement of the system. The successful candidate will join a dynamic working environment with a strong focus on operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Vehicle Monitoring: Monitor autonomous vehicles during day-to-day operations, road testing and operational missions, ensuring that system behaviour is consistent with expectations and that planned activities are carried out correctly.
- Vehicle Control: Take manual control of the vehicle whenever requested or required, in compliance with safety procedures, operating instructions and applicable regulations.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect, organise and analyse data relating to missions, testing and validation activities, events and vehicle performance.
- Technical Reporting: Prepare periodic reports on activities carried out, test results and any issues or critical aspects identified.
- Anomaly Reporting: Observe and document road and environmental conditions, events, incidents, interruptions, abnormal vehicle behaviour and potentially critical situations, promptly reporting them to the technical team.

- Day-to-Day Operational Management: Carry out basic vehicle checks and preparation activities, including visual inspections, cleaning, preliminary checks, start-up and shutdown procedures, vehicle securing and charging, where applicable.
- Continuous Improvement Support: Depending on their skills and the instructions received, support the integration and testing of automotive components such as LiDAR, radar, cameras and GPS. Work closely with the technical team, technology partners and suppliers to share findings and evidence, coordinate activities and contribute to improving overall system performance.
