Senior Ios Developer (Swift)
Our partner is looking for a Senior iOS Developer (Swift) based in Italy. As a Senior iOS Developer, you will play a key role in building and enhancing a native mobile application with a strong focus on accessibility and inclusive design. You will leverage your expertise in Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit to deliver reliable, high-performance features that meet the needs of a diverse user base.
A central part of your work will involve implementing advanced iOS accessibility solutions, ensuring seamless VoiceOver support, and optimizing interfaces for users with different accessibility requirements. You will contribute to accessibility testing, identify usability barriers, and ensure alignment with recognized accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1 and 2.2. Working in a fully remote, international environment, you will collaborate with technical teams to maintain high standards of code quality and application performance.

Native iOS development: Develop, maintain, and enhance native iOS applications using Swift, delivering new features and improving existing functionality.
UI development: Build and optimize user interfaces using SwiftUI and/or UIKit, ensuring consistency, responsiveness, and a high-quality user experience.
Accessibility implementation: Design, implement, and refine accessibility features across native iOS applications to support users with diverse needs and abilities. iOS accessibility APIs: Apply iOS Accessibility APIs and SwiftUI Accessibility capabilities to improve accessibility throughout the application.
Dynamic Type and scalable interfaces:
Implement Dynamic Type and scalable font sizes to ensure content remains readable and usable across different text-size preferences. Configure and optimize accessibility labels, traits, values, and actions so that assistive technologies can accurately interpret and interact with interface components.
Accessibility testing and quality assurance: Conduct hands-on accessibility testing, particularly with VoiceOver, to identify, investigate, and resolve accessibility-related defects. Validate accessibility implementations against relevant guidelines, including WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.2, and contribute to continuous improvements in inclusive design. Cross-functional collaboration: Work with relevant technical stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, share expertise, and deliver accessible, maintainable, and user-centered mobile solutions.
At least 5 years of professional experience in native iOS application development. Strong practical expertise in Swift and a solid understanding of native iOS development principles. Commercial experience developing and maintaining applications using SwiftUI and/or UIKit.
Extensive hands-on experience implementing accessibility features in native iOS applications. Strong practical knowledge of VoiceOver, including testing and optimizing screen-reader navigation and interactions.
Experience working with iOS Accessibility APIs and SwiftUI Accessibility features. Demonstrated experience implementing Dynamic Type and scalable font sizes to accommodate different accessibility preferences. Practical experience configuring and optimizing accessibility labels, traits, values, and actions.
Experience implementing and troubleshooting accessibility focus management in native iOS interfaces. Proven ability to conduct accessibility testing, identify usability barriers, and implement effective technical solutions. Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality software.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with distributed, international teams. Good English communication skills, both written and verbal. A proactive, quality-focused mindset and the ability to work independently in a remote development environment.
