Quality Manager – Precision Engineering & Manufacturing
Location: Modena Province, Italy
Employment type: Permanent, direct hire
Salary: Approximately €60,000 gross annual salary (RAL)
About the role An established precision engineering and machining business is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to review and improve its quality management system.
The business specialises in precision machining to customer specifications, producing prototypes and small batches for the aerospace, motorsport, automation and packaging industries.
The quality system is already established, but the focus of this role will be to make processes more efficient and proportionate to a prototype and low-volume production environment, maintaining compliance without unnecessarily slowing manufacturing operations.
Key responsibilities
- Review existing quality documentation, procedures and management systems.
- Evaluate non-conformities and identify opportunities to improve quality processes.
- Work closely with production managers to redesign and streamline procedures.
- Maintain quality standards while supporting efficient shop-floor operations.
- Act as the main quality contact for customers, suppliers and certification bodies.
- Coordinate audits with external consultants and auditors.
- Support the extension of existing certifications and implementation of additional standards.
- Work alongside a qualified product inspection specialist to oversee quality control activities.
Required experience
- Experience in quality management within precision machining or mechanical manufacturing.
- Background in prototype or small-batch production, ideally in aerospace, motorsport, automation or packaging.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Experience developing, implementing or reorganising quality processes.
- Knowledge of dimensional inspection and measurement.
- Good command of English.
- Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to work directly with production teams and customer quality representatives.
Desirable: Knowledge of EN 9100 aerospace quality standards.
