ReaCer - Reactive sintering of ceramics – project code-26-1-(CUP640005)
Organisation/Company Università di Trento Research Field Engineering Researcher Profile Recognised Researcher (R2) Leading Researcher (R4) First Stage Researcher (R1) Established Researcher (R3) Application Deadline 11 Nov 2026 - 12:00 (UTC) Country Italy Type of Contract To be defined Job Status Not Applicable Is the job funded through the EU Research Framework Programme? Not funded by a EU programme Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure? No
Offer Description
ReaCer aims to develop a new fundamental understanding of the consolidation mechanisms activated in
reactive hydrothermal liquid-phase sintering, RHLPS. The main goal is to identify a kinetic model for the process
and bind it to the physics of the system. This will allow us to clarify the rate-controlling bottlenecks for the reactive
consolidation, the diffusion pathways, and the activation energy of the process. Remarkably,
the assumptions behind this consolidation approach are mechanistically different from those mastering the traditional solid-state sintering models. The fellow should propose a set of experiments that will allow the identification of a physical model for the system evolution in RHLPS and connect it to kinetic equations, including the effect of different processing parameters (time, temperature, particle size, solution molarity, and pH).
