Offer Description
The gut microbiota undergoes profound alterations in pediatric patients with hematological disorders, undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation or advanced cellular therapies. These changes are associated with an increased risk of complications, significantly impacting survival and quality of life.
Understanding microbiota dynamics may enable the development of targeted therapeutic strategies. This project aims to: 1. characterize, through metagenomic approaches, the composition and functions of the gut microbiota in pediatric patients with hematological disorders, receiving transplantation or advanced cellular therapies, correlating them with clinical outcomes; 2. evaluate the impact of microbiota modulation strategies (including dietary interventions and fecal microbiota transplantation) on microbial composition and post-treatment outcomes; 3. identify, also through artificial intelligence, microbial patterns predictive of response and risk
