Advanced monitoring of coating detachment using optical systems.
Organisation/Company Università Politecnica delle Marche Research Field Engineering Researcher Profile Recognised Researcher (R2) Leading Researcher (R4) First Stage Researcher (R1) Established Researcher (R3) Application Deadline 24 Nov 2026 - 13:00 (UTC) Country Italy Type of Contract To be defined Job Status Not Applicable Is the job funded through the EU Research Framework Programme? Not funded by a EU programme Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure? No
Offer Description
The research focuses on validating coatings applied to actual components for domestic hot water production systems, monitoring the detachment of the internal protective enamel using internal optical systems and infrared thermography. The selected candidate will contribute to defining test protocols and accelerated thermomechanical loading and pressurization cycles, preparing components,
and conducting tests on UNIVPM's rapid fatigue test rig. They will process pressure, temperature, and diagnostic data to quantify defect initiation, location, extent, and evolution. Post-test analyses using optical and electron microscopy will help identify cracking, delamination, and corrosion. The candidate will also contribute to calibrating finite element models and integrating experimental and numerical results to assess reliability and operating limits and refine industrial validation protocols.
