Cross-Layer Solutions for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Networks: Cross-Link CSI Prediction, MAC Scheduling, a
Organisation/Company Politecnico di Milano Research Field Engineering Researcher Profile Recognised Researcher (R2) Leading Researcher (R4) First Stage Researcher (R1) Established Researcher (R3) Application Deadline 3 Dec 2026 - 12:00 (UTC) Country Italy Type of Contract Temporary Job Status Full-time Hours Per Week 00 Is the job funded through the EU Research Framework Programme? Not funded by a EU programme Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure? No
Offer Description The research will focus on wireless and Internet of Things networks based on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, integrating communication and Wi-Fi sensing through cross-layer solutions spanning the physical layer and medium access control (MAC) protocols. Channel State Information (CSI) and cross-link channel prediction will be used to optimize transmission scheduling and radio resource allocation, reducing CSI acquisition overhead. Physical-layer security and privacy threats will be analyzed,
and countermeasures against unauthorized sensing will be developed, including CSI obfuscation and randomized beamforming, while limiting the impact on legitimate communications. The solutions will employ artificial intelligence methods, including multimodal learning and neuro-symbolic approaches, and will be experimentally validated on commodity devices and software-defined radio platforms.
Italian or foreign applicants, who have a PhD or equivalent qualification, obtained in Italy or abroad are admitted to selection process. In addition, in the past 5 years, they must have authored, co-authored, or edited a number of publications, accepted texts, essays included in collections, and articles published in print or digital journals equal to or exceeding the minimum required number of 6, excluding internal notes or departmental reports.
