Offer Description The research activity will focus on the melt-state synthesis—via polycondensation and ring-opening
polymerization (ROP)—and the characterization (in the melt, in the solid state, and in solution) of new
polymers derived from renewable sources, particularly agri-food waste.

These materials are intended for
biomedical applications (tissue engineering, controlled drug delivery systems, and sustainable packaging
with intrinsic antimicrobial properties) as well as for the development of sustainable, active food
packaging. The research aims to establish structure-property relationships that are fundamental to
designing new materials for specific applications. Teaching activities, student support, and collaboration
on thesis supervision will pertain to courses within the CHEM-06/A scientific-disciplinary sector. These
activities will be carried out within the degree programs offered by the School of Engineering and
Architecture.
