Offer Description
The research activity will focus on the melt-state synthesis—via polycondensation and ring-openingpolymerization (ROP)—and the characterization (in the melt, in the solid state, and in solution) of newpolymers derived from renewable sources,
particularly agri-food waste. These materials are intended forbiomedical applications (tissue engineering, controlled drug delivery systems, and sustainable packagingwith intrinsic antimicrobial properties) as well as for the development of sustainable, active foodpackaging. The research aims to establish structure-property relationships that are fundamental todesigning new materials for specific applications. Teaching activities, student support, and collaborationon thesis supervision will pertain to courses within the CHEM-06/A scientific-disciplinary sector. Theseactivities will be carried out within the degree programs offered by the School of Engineering andArchitecture.
