Not funded by a EU programme Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure? No /p h3Offer Description /h3 pTitle of the project:" Statistical challenges in mapping rainfall erosivity in Italy". Estimating rainfall erosivity, i.e. the potential of rainfall to cause soil loss, across Italy poses a challenging statistical problem. High-frequency rainfall data are essential for estimating erosivity, but available records are sparse and heterogeneous in coverage and resolution.
This project will address these limitations through the collection, integration and harmonisation of heterogeneous rainfall and environmental data, together with a critical assessment of established methods. Its main contribution will be the development of statistical models that combine data observed at different spatial and temporal resolutions..
