The Criminal Special Investigator will investigate alleged suspected criminal violations, interview, observe, and analyze records. This role will investigate crime scenes to include measuring, photographing, diagramming and collecting and processing evidence. As well as present evidence in court proceedings as prescribed by statutes and rules of evidence. /ph3Job Duties: /h3ulliInvestigates/processes crime scenes, compiles investigative findings and presents findings in reports, testifies in administrative and criminal proceedings /liliSearches for evidence and collects, records, and submits evidence for analysis /liliPerforms executive protection, conducts threat assessment investigations, gathers intelligence, and criminal trends /liliProvides advance notice to supervisor, affected persons or agencies of impending situations having a potential risk of harm or adverse effect to the security of the Departments operations /liliDevelops and uses informants or other sources to get leads to information relating to criminal activity, gang activity, and absconded felons /liliMaintains surveillance and performs undercover assignments, debrief of previously validated Security Threat Group (STG) members /liliCompiles trend analysis, reports, threat assessments certifications of groups and members /liliMakes decisions concerning the validation process of STG members, appeals and court proceedings /liliObtains/verifies evidence or establishes facts by interviewing, observing, and interrogating suspects and witnesses and analyzing records /liliObtains and executes search and arrest warrants /liliAssist with state, county,

certification is required within one year of appointment. /ppEmployment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation, drug test, medical/physical examination, polygraph exam, and psychological evaluation.
