This position requires meeting project goals such as schedule, manufacturability, and cost. This position will consist of creating designs, drawings, bills of material, and processing Engineering Change Orders. /p pThe Electrical Designer/Engineer primarily works on Engineering-to-Order (ETO) design projects to meet customer requirements in a team environment. These designs will typically be Static Transfer Switches, Power Switches and Distribution units, Power Switching Cabinets, Remote Power Panels (RPP) for use in data centers. Will be required to meet project goals such as schedule, manufacturability, and cost.This position will consist of creating designs, drawings, bills of material, and processing Engineering Change Orders. /p h3What kind of work will you be doing? /h3 ul liEvaluates with AE team the custom technical requests, verify the feasibility, design, and define the cost of the customized solutions.
/li liPrepare and submit official quotations in accordance with ETO internal guidelines. /li liCreate mechanical and electrical drawings, Bill of Material (BOM), specify parts. All following the PLM rules. /li liCreate submittal drawings for finished design. /li liLiaise with sub-suppliers to optimize and select the most competitive solutions. /li liLiaise with Application Engineering team to provide technical advice and information. /li liLiaise with OPC (Order Processing Center) Team for ETO activities coordination. /li liSupport to the FWT team (Factory Witness Test) for the additional tests required by the ETO. /li liSupport prototype building process. /li liDevelop plans and provide schedule updates. /li liCooperate with the other engineering functions during the definition of the ETO specification. /li liProvide good teamwork behavior with the Electrical team as well as other teams to establish productive cross-functional conditions. /li /ul h3What will make you successful? /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering /li liAssociate degree in electrical engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience OR /li liHigh School Diploma and 15+ years of relevant experience. /li liMust have good planning, organizing, documentation and communication skills. Must be team-oriented and able to work in a fast‑paced work environment.
/li liCapable of utilizing a personal computer and various applications programs, i.e., spreadsheets, CAD, word processing, communications, etc. /li liDeep knowledgeable on power switchboards and distribution systems /li liDeep knowledge on pertinent standard IEC 62310 (STS) and IEC 60439 (LV switchgear and control gear) /li liKnowledge of NEC and UL is a plus. /li /ul pThe successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principals Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities. /p h3OUR CORE PRINCIPALS /h3 pSafety. Certain roles may be eligible for variable compensation and benefits.
